I create compact storage for tools that lets them be ready to use in under 1 minute. It keeps my motivation sky high when it comes to starting a new project.
This channel is for people who feel like if they just had a full sized shop, they'd be more motivated to start a project, or start a wood-working business, etc. If you're one of those people, read on!
My goal with the One Minute Workbench channel is to inspire others to pursue building the things they want to build, even if they have limited time and space. You can get nearly full workshop functionality out of just a sliver of your garage, and I want to show you how.
Everything I design is designed in such a way that it can be stored in a very compact fashion, but still fully ready for use in less than 1 minute.
So if you don't have the luxury of a full-sized shop, subscribe to the channel, and watch my approach to working in limited space.

I am curious about your choice. I have used older Haas and Fadal machines, but I am approaching retirement and thinking about a hobby setup with a Tormach or Langmuir gantry machine. What sort of parts are you making and in what quantity? Why did the capabilities of the Tormach require an obvious upgrade (besides the tool changer)? If you have time to respond. Thanks
Great video!!
Because you have a spindle mounted in bearings, there’s no need to build a base for the drill. Just chuck the spindle and the drill will just sit there.
Cool Haas!
Does this mean I can buy a leverhead soon??
I hope so 😂
Just bought one on an auction for 55 dollars in good condition. I had figured out the adjustment settings show on here but the previous owner put the blade on the bearing instead of behind it, therefore making the blade be out of square. Thanks for the help.
Hey, just a few hundred million yt ads to go and you'll break even!
😂
Cool, looking forward to seeing it on action and see what you make!
That's some BIGAZZ D.I.Y. stuff going on there Tommy
Awesome looking machines, man! Congrats!!! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Getting it running bad to be fun. Just the pack materials are overwhelming. Haha
Nice machining center. Are you having to write g-code for this machine? I would have suggested looking at ProtoTrack line up.
This is super exciting!!!
Thank you, I got stuck on where to separate the motor from the gear box, and that's when i found this video. Ty
Felicitaciones!!!😅 Está muy práctico su proyecto!!! Excelente!! Cordial saludo!!
Thank you again Sir.🎉
I just built a smaller 16 inch wide version and am happy with it! Simple design, dust falls through, and plenty sturdy.
Yes sure it's great am goin to start one...
Thank you. Very easy to follow . Nice voice too.
I'm just happy to see you back would love a remake of the all in one I bought the plans built it and then I seen a lot of people jock you but I still like yours best
hi five finger tommy. It seemed appropriate to show that you still have all your fingers on at least one hand, before advising us on how to cut small metal parts. thank you
Dude, wear a dust mask when cutting plywood
What an absolutely idiotic design approach! There should have been a separate smaller piece of threaded aluminum to mate with the steel threads. In that event, a much smaller and hopefully cheaper replacement piece could be used. Makes me wonder what other shortcuts Dewalt has made with all of the other machine tools I have purchased from them! This is one of the finest videos I have seen of its type. The fact that you figured this out yourself is outstanding. If you aren't an engineer by occupation, I'm sure your could have been. Thank you very much.
aboslutely love your content, i actually tried to purchase the micro shop plans from your website but was unable to today...keep the great content coming.
Great idea wow❤
Tried to download the plans but simply states that the cart is empty
Fantastic video!! Thank you!!
So simple but incredibly effective.. All done without welders, vacuum systems, planes, and major equipment which most of us don't have..
2:34 Pipe thread has a path around it that makes it require sealant of some sort. 4:00 That's exactly how I had to move my 3-phase lathe. I gotta check out the website but I'm hoping you've made kits where I can purchase just the parts that would require machining, as I'd like to incorporate them into my own design for the overall body/lever assembly. Thanks for the video!
Aha! Excellent. Not just cheaper table saws either. Thank you
Nice video! I know that this video is over 5 years old, but I wanted to make one comment. 1/4" hardboard would probably have worked if you had continued to use 1/2" or 3/4" plywood for the sides and the stops and only used the hardboard only for the bottom. This would give you the maximum possible cut depth. Just cut the hardboard a little wider and longer than needed and then glue the plywood strips to the hardboard, and once the glue has dried trim off the excess hardboard. Flat L-brackets in the corners on top of the plywood would add some more strength. Oh, saw this on another video on making circular saw guides to add make these non-slip just like the fancy track saw tracks. He put three pieces of blue tape the length of the guide to frame two strips of the bottom of the guide. Then he applied clear 100% silicone caulk along those strips and then used a plastic card riding on the strips of tape to spread the caulk in thin and even layer and to remove any excess. Once the caulk has dried, then just peel off the tape and you have two non-slip strips along the bottom. I might go with two thicknesses of blue tape to get a little thicker layer of caulk.
thank you ! I just was given this same saw today, can't wait to set it up with your great info!
build own espresso machine need cnc machine, and price of espresso machine it self cheaper than cnc machine 😢
Very true 😂
@@OneMinuteWorkbench why dont you combine it with element heater + arduino, so you can make automated espresso machine including steam for milk
I visited a lot of plastic extrusion mfg. They made parts for aerospace. Their biggest expense was tooling...the extrusion molds demanded tool fixing, cleaning, designing, and building these tools. Good luck...
Have you changed out blades on your planer? Changed out to helix cutter? You are a great teacher and your fix the table saw video was a masterpiece. I agree with Matt below, this is the best one I have ever seen.
Why the hurry? Trying to be a real one minute build? Speed kills and you won't hear any complaints about taking more time, from me! Great job...now you have me rethinking my flipcart.
I have a rectangle benchtop drill press. I'm thinking about adding about 3 inches to the very base plate to accomodate clamping of the vise to my press base plate. Any thoughts? This is the most uncomplicated design and I've been looking at about a dozen since I returned my cast iron vise that had to weigh 50 pounds. Good job!
Great tutorial!
Like others, very excited to get a look into your process with new tools!
Cool but doesn't show "how to make"!
Have you had any issues with the cart moving as you are jointing? I am concerned that the small area between the casters and the floor will allow the cart to slide.
That is a damn nice design, BRAVO! I could not see spending the money for a pedestal disc sander so this is a nice option for the times a disc sander is needed.
Very well thought out test rig. Too bad you did not have access to a pallet scale or high capacity scale, I would really like to know the real numbers. I recently had a project where even though I drilled a 4M hole with a drill press for a 4mm piece of linear shafting, but it was a had a little slop, a little CA glue in the hole of the movable piece and the two holes of the base wood and I had to pound the piece of shafting through the holes. The holes were tight now, not a hint of slop.
The shop on the website is down right now, and I'd love to get my hands on some of these plans! Can it be fixed? Can they be found elsewhere?
I just checked and all seems to be working. Let me know how it goes.

whenever I try to add anything to my cart it jumps to the cart, but nothing's been added. I've tried it on multiple devices and browsers and it's the same problem for me@@OneMinuteWorkbench
I am also having trouble with the online shop. it won't add anything to the cart, it just stays empty. I've tried on multiple browsers and devices, but get the same issue
I have made one of these for my workbench! Just one thing I didn't like in your project: the circle handles. They don't offer too much grip for a strong tightening, specially if you are an elder and suffer of arthritis. I made the handles of mine with heavy wood and shaped like untwisted propellers. Beside to improve grip it allows you to tap them and make it spins fast for a quick screwing and unscrewing.
Wow doweling a dowel
Now this should be very interesting! 👍👍
Exciting times. Nice. Can't wait to see it.
THAT is the build. Wonderful. Here is the last, unmentioned point I would make about a home made lathe. When YOU build it you can adjust the height of the head and tail stocks to be able to adventure into larger bowl blanks. Just please always be safe. Tommy has done a great job in the details and in the builds, and in the adjustments he has been offered. I suggest a subscription and a LIKE for this and all his videos. Mark
Awesome machine, dude! Looking forward to see what you're going to make! 😃 Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
